John Londoño
Dr. Londoño is a physician who graduated from Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira and a specialist in internal medicine and rheumatology from Universidad Militar Nueva Granada. Dr. Londoño has a master’s degree in medical sciences from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México y el Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Subirán and a doctorate in applied medical investigation from Universidad de Navarra. Dr. Londoño is a titular professor at the Universidad de La Sabana; today is the academic coordinator of the postgraduate degree of rheumatology in alliance with the Hospital Militar Central; he was the principal developer of the academic program. He is a clinical professor at Universidad Militar Nueva Granada in rheumatology and leads the GESPA group classified by Minciencias as A category, this entity has also cataloged Dr. Londoño as Senior Investigator. He is a member of the editorial committee of La Revista Colombiana de Reumatología.
Dr. Londoño has centered his study on spondyloarthritis in Colombian and Latin American populations, its clinical characterization, progression, radiologic evaluation, and its association with predisposing genetic factors. He is the author of multiple papers in indexed national and international journals.
Dr. Londoño and his group are working on the relationship between rheumatic diseases and infection, and, in aspects related to the prevalence of rheumatic disease in Colombian people, the impact on the quality of life-related to health, and the economic effect of rheumatic diseases in the health system.
He is a member of Asociación Colombiana de Medicina Interna, Asociación Colombiana de Reumatología, American College of Physicians, and American College of Rheumatology.
